Margi & Shaggy who run the Kingsford, Gawler gig so well, I don't think have ever finished off a night with a performance as far as I can remember, and I don't think anyone has really thought twice about it. The last performance is usually a big number that closes the night with a bang with the aim of leaving the crowd with that 'wow, great night...' feeling you talked about, and has them (hopefully!) then looking forward to next week. Being granted the last song of the night is, in my opinion, a tremendous honour and privilege. Having said that, I think there is indeed a rightful place for the host to have the last song of the night, if nothing else, as a mark of respect and thanks from the venue's crowd/regulars for a terrific night!
