From the Where2sing.com forum:

Barrytone,it can't be the Bandclub thats being referred to in boiling point ,because the host only sings before the show starts to check the sound and his wife(who rarely sings at all) will sometimes by request, sing after the show has finished, usually when everyone's on their way out.The books never close at 48 singers, theres always over 50 singers. The people who complain usually are people who go first to another venue close by and then come over to the club for more songs, then usually go back again to the pub.Crisscrossing the two venues to get maximum songs in.But of course making sure they are back at the club in time for the money draw.No way have any singers Boycotted the show,at least non of the regulars would ever do anything like that, as they understand that the books do have to be closed at some time during the night. The only time that karaoke has any problems with being able to fit all singers in the allotted time, is when the club have a Showcase to get through before the karaoke can start and that makes the karaoke late. Are people totally stupid to not see that the hosts can only do their best under these circumstances.I dont know how the hosts feel about this, but I for one are sick and tired of hearing drummed up complaints about this show.Foster and Joan are two of the fairest hosts in this game. They never show preference to individuals even if they're friends. They are just straight up and down, straight to the point,no nonsense people. You notice that the people who complain, only do so under cover of boiling point, because they want to complain, but dont want people to know who they are.Pack of whingers!!....
