From the Where2sing.com forum:

Happy New Year to all.

Barry Tone the song your after (Hand me Down) was also on the Top Tunes disc 226 Vol 39 a combination of Coldplay and Matchbox 20 songs.

As for how many songs are sung it depends on the venue and what people like.
@ Peakhurst Inn we use to have a guy called Phil that would try new songs nearly every week.
His total over 7 years that he came was well over 150 different songs.
Now on the other spectrum we had a girl that had a range of 4 songs that she had learnt over the 7 year period that she came and one song in particular was sung every week.

If I had just stuck to 2000 songs then Phil would not have tried different songs because the choices wouldn’t have been there in his style to try.
I did notice that when new songs were added to my list that it certainly encouraged people to try some of the new songs.

Speaking of big lists it amuses me to see Hosts that have only been in the Karaoke business for a short period of time (a year or two) that have HUGE Karaoke lists (40,000 plus songs) and multi gigs on the same night (2 or 3).

These guys are my heroes as they must have invested more than $40,000 to $120,000 just on Karaoke discs and downloaded songs (cheapest $.99 cents for one song to download) to be legal for all their rigs, or have they?
