| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi GregW ...Thank you for your response , i truly thought there would be a little more concern out there but yes it does present a level of insecurity with in the industry as a whole yet as you say there has been a steady decline in Pubs now for many years for quite a few reasons ..ie.. in capital city and in some areas the land these hotels ''' sit on '' are worth much more when turned into housing / apartments , plus the ''' Traditional Drinker'' is all but gone , in my town there are 4 pubs ...one has '' closed down '' for the 2nd time in a year ....2nd one only opens Thru- Sat and has been trying to sell it for a long while and the other two are Struggling , hanging on by a tread both are trying hard to sell and all owners tell me its because things like Licensee fees have risen that high plus other on going daily running costs have '' jumped though the roof ''' coupled with the loss of the '' tradition drinkers '' for various reasons ..ie... the blokes that go to the public bar after work 4-7 pm every working day of the year , so yes this has been a ongoing process but to wipe out so many in one hit will have severe '' fall out problems for many .
