| From the Where2sing.com forum: I can recall a few years ago (When Comps were all the go)...many of us hosts had had enough!! of Karaoke competitions and some (many) of the people they attracted...the bitchiness.......the accusations of bias ...cheating....favouritism...the abuse....the hard work for little or NO reward ....SWDs.... etc...etc... we discussed the subject to ad nauseam.........however for many of us...competitions were NOT worth the effort...maybe every now and again a local competition may be nice just to break the montony...however for most... certainly Single Rig Hosts....no thank you!!
Ray I don't recall any recent posts even discussing the matter of 'comp chasers'...then out of the blue came your post....almost as if it were a recent and ongoing discussion?
From my experience ... many of those who WERE compchasers back say in `02 -`06...are over it!!...and many still like to come to SOCIAL karaoke from time to time...maybe Sydney is different?.... besides KWC... I do not know of any serious comps happening in Brisvegas ...other than your 'meat tray style' local pub regulars type comp taking place...Ray I think you need to come up with a few examples ...you appear to be a few years out of date with your ascertains?
