Tony ...as you know...We of course were at the ACT years ago under the GO KARAOKE banner...it worked very well! ..then Mad Mart had a fight with ACT management over competitions (as he does) and he was trying to use us as blackmail fodder by threatening to take us (Rosalie and Vic) out of the ACT because the ACT management were very keen to keep us as it had been a great success.
In the end ...the ACT told Mart and GO KARAOKE to FU*K off...
In the meantime the ACT had employed Krazy Kath....we split from GO KARAOKE and became ROVICS.
We went to the ACT in that period for some 'reasearch' only to find that Krazy Kath had manged to empty the place out and had a rotation of 2..including the busty blonde hostess...LOL...so we approached the ACT manager...told him we had split from Mad Mart....and within 2 weeks we had the gig back under ROVICS
And as many will know that place Rocked big time for years and not unlike Chatswood RSL was a consistent W2S #1 or 2....30-40 singers every night...it was a great venue...huge stage and screen...and a great atmosphere....with a consistent audience of 100+
Then along came Bipan (new Pakistani Manager)...the place fell in a hole ...almost over night...and quite frankly he was an arrogant prick!! and was always threatening to employ a cheaper Karaoke(Chucky feel free to copy and paste him my sentiments...LOL )..he has since left
Bipan then employed Kaos...that lasted about 1 year...they lost almost all of the regulars and in the end Kaos Karaoke went also.
I believe they now employ Krazy Kath again...I am sure the place Rocks!! lol...NOT
I am certain that many venue managers check through their records to see what was UNsuccessful....and then go with it...there can be NO other explanation??!!

Had Jim around my place the other day and he told me that Helen and all of that Karaoke crowd just do NOT go down to the ACT anymore...and the Bar is almost empty and only inhabited by loud and quite young drunks most Karaoke nights
