I rest my case putting forward the '70s as the ''golden'' decade of pop/rock ... after you guys submitted ''Vienna'' as a great song ... always grated on me as an overly commercial tune with a weak vocal & a somewhat ''plastic' arrangement ... I guess it shows that with music , (as is with any art form) , beauty is in the ear of the beholder !! ... lol
There are some tunes I like from the '80s though ... Phil Collins stuff (''Throwing it all Away'' is one of my all-time favourite songs !) & I like singing ''Shattered Dreams'' from Johnny Hates Jazz ...'cause there's just something about a song with the word 'SHAT' in the title ...don't ya think ?!! ...lol
