| From the Where2sing.com forum: Anthony , Mandy ....Once again that phase comes to mind ''' Horses for Courses '' , i must say i been to pubs and venues and private functions that if you didn't the '' karaoke Champion type songs '' you would be run out of town '' they would have your '' guts for guarder''' never get a return booking but I've also been to other places where they want a ''' more selective ' song list so what comes to mine for me is some words spoken to me as in youth starting out on the ''' stage '' an old Actor said to me ''' Son '' if you want to make a '' FULL Time '' living out of this ''' game ''' ( meaning the entertainment business in general ) in Aust you better learn how to Dance , Sing , Act , Compere , and Talk on a Microphone , cover ALL your Basis , well the Dancing i never seemed to have mastered lol but the others i do pretty alright , yet what I'm saying here is for Me it was to have a good range of songs to '' Cater '' for ANY gig that would come my way no matter what that gig may be or songs to ''' Fit '' that gig , hey !! that advice from that Actor has feed my family got me properties and gave a pretty good life .
So do i think ''' Selective song choice '' is good NO , sorry not for me , but still can understand why some hosts wish to be differant.
