| From the Where2sing.com forum: 2010 UK's 'Must Be The Music' : I just re-lived the Final on Foxtel 8 (I first saw a 'tape' of this last year, and bought the eventual winner's CD as soon as it was released).
Is this the 'REAL McCoy' as far as singing contests is concerned? The last 6 finalists got there singing their own songs and accompanying themselves? All original songs, all talented musicians?
The eventual winner is from Glasgow (singer-songwriter, busker, with her acoustic guitar) - the very humble, very unassuming, but very talented Emma Gillespie (who calls herself EMMA'S IMAGINATION).
I watched the entire series (just 6 weeks of it) and maybe it's just my perception, but the British contestants from this Show (Irish and Welsh included) are so real and oh so well-mannered and polite as compared to their hyped-up self-centred and rude American counterparts from their Idol series ..... and the type of music and song choices, to me, also reflect the vast chasm of cultural differences between those the two countries
