From the Where2sing.com forum:

Roy I agree with some of your comments.
I have been to a Karaoke show where there were plenty of singers and the Karaoke Host and his assistant decided after about 1 ½ hours to put on some music. Their excuse was 'we will now put on some music because we are exhausted and need a break'
After only 1 ½ hours and they needed a break yeh right I thought give me a break, I want to sing so I sung with my feet and never went back.
Having said that though some clubs tell the KJ’s to have a dance break half way through their Karaoke Show.
I think it would be a great idea to list this on each and every gig guide to give W2S singers an indication if there will be all Karaoke or Karaoke with Dance breaks.
I also agree with black god because I also like venues playing music while waiting for the next singer to come up to the microphone as it keeps the atmosphere going,
At our show we play music between singers coming up to sing but we save the dance music for the end of the night when we are packing up.
Now Narly before you ask where, why and who, it was a fair time back and Karaoke is no longer at the venue.
David your right I won’t be able to make it to Chatswood on a Wednesday night for that beer and a song as I will be hosting my Karaoke show at Peakhurst Inn.
May I suggest that I secretly go to one of the venues that your reviewing and have a drink with you there. I will even where a disguise if you think this may help LoL.
Kind Regards
Kev
