| From the Where2sing.com forum: Vic, SM58's are prone to the XLR wearing, we had someone in the shop last week claiming the microphone lead i sold her didnt work, so we went through 4 or 5 different brand and quality leads with varying amounts of drop out and the lead that fitted best was a $15.00 lead with Amphenol copy plugs, the $50.00 lead with genuine Amphenol... no good.
Going back to the artists at the Gammys using many different microphones you have to remember that the artists are endorsed by the microphone manufactures in the same way Marshall supply Slash with all amps and speaker cabs and Gibson give him guitars.
Christina Aguilera would sound good through most microphones set up correctly unfortunately not many manufactures would give her a microphone cuz as if your going to look at the microphone when she has a body like that...
