| From the Where2sing.com forum: Before I continue, I want to make it clear that I am not associated with that venue or the hosting company that provides the services. The smoking comment is only fair if the comment accurately represents what is taking place. If, as the host advises, the show takes place in doors then it is simply not possible to smoke and sing at the same time and therefore is far from a fair comment.
My issue goes beyond that. I am being asked to keep control of a gig in order to prevent people from being able to be labelled by w2s coding as working for me. On the surface, that doesn't sound like such an unreasonable ask. However, under this situation, the following can happen:
Someone can create a gig, say they are the host, allocate it to my company and then cancel the gig, the net result being that they are now connected to my company through w2s coding.
Far fetched? Perhaps, but there has been one instance in the past where someone was incorrectly linked to our company and while the issue did not present a problem and the link was severed, the fact remains that the situation can and will probably happen again. We can't know what the outcome of that will be.
Surely its good business sense to identify potential problems before they happen and adjust procedures and policies to ensure they don't happen at all?
