From the Where2sing.com forum:

It is an old persons Idea to feel that you must use your own name in internet chat rooms.
I have a Nickname here not because I do not stand behide what I say or feel I can hide behide a name but because Its the smart thing to do.
Just because you call yourself BOB JOE or Jenny does not prove in any case you are more real than anyone else in here in what you say.Sure I could call myself BOB to but my Name is Mike.
These people that choose to use there SO CALLED real names and feel that others that use nick name have less credit then them really need to come up to date with the REAL world. Many people in here know my real name and that is because they know me well and I choose to let them know know I am when I meet them.( Maybe I dont wish to meet you.)
It is a matter of choice that should be respected as you dont know who reads these post and I dont wish to be stalked by some weird person at a venue that knows me but I dont know them.
All internet sites (including this one) encorage for you NOT to use real names on line because of this and other reasons.
THIS Forum is not the real world it is a world numbers and letters and most people in MY VEIW that use nicknames are being smart.
Thats why if you look at the way this site is set up you will see ,and david asked you to use a Nickname. YOUR NICKNAME
Disagree if you wish and use your real name, thats your choice but dont hassle others here that prefere to choose what they want too do.

So to all the name Police in here give it rest hey. LOL
