I'm not sure if you're completely right about today's kids having a narrower perspective on music than when we were young, (although I often get that impression too). There must be plenty of youngsters exploring all lines of music , that's just human nature (not the band, the concept !) It does seem though, that as we get older, in general, our willingness to explore other musical genres deminishes. Again , not always the case... some people never lose the thirst for something new ...
