I'd like to pose a question to anyone who has some 'sound' qualification or formal training in 'sound':

Based on a gig comment, which is probably better debated here, does it change the sound when just one channel from the desk is output through both speakers?

In other words, whilst two channels are available and normally played, in a host's normal playing of standard karaoke tracks, are the two channels different? And then, if just one channel is output, perhaps through both speakers due to one channel on the desk being dead, are singers likely to hear a different sound than normal (when both channels are working)?
