LB, re: 'David: I don't think you've understood what I've been saying'...

Maybe I can recap, to bring this discussion up to date from the gig comments:

- A singer commented about: 'the mikes and the speakers-ongoing problem each week'
- After several more posts, it seems LB did that night solve the no RHS from the desk by routing the LHS through both speakers
Quote (in part):
'Nothing was wrong'
'The end result from an audio quality perspective was exactly the same'
'This only impacts on the rare tracks where there is a musical presence only on the RHS channel'
- To determine whether this would have been noticeable to a singer, I cited my experience at another gig, LB replied:
Quote (in part):
'The likelihood that anyone would have noticed one channel not being present would have been extremely low '
'I've never seen a situation where daisy chaining by itself alters the key of a signal'
- My experience at another gig suggested that to have just one side of stereo is very noticeable, and I commented:
Quote (in part):
'the most dominant backing at what seemed like a fifth out'
to which LB replied:
'No, the only thing that gets altered when a channel is missing is the gain, otherwise known as volume, which is fixed quite easily by sliding the fader a little bit further up.'

If this is not a brief but balanced precis of posts to date, please do update me.
