From the Where2sing.com forum:

David: Here's the other reason why the Newy crowd shouldn't have noticed any difference (and it's only just occurred to me). The way the speakers are set up, due to the shape of the room, one speaker is behind the host (in front of the singer) and pointed at the stage and the other speaker is next to the singer and pointed out to the rest of the room. This means, by all accounts, that the singer has always only gotten one channel, while the rest of the room gets the other. Not ideal, but the shape and size of the room makes any other set-up impractical. So I'm still at a loss to understand why all of a sudden there is an issue with a patron having trouble with the sound. Even if that trouble was legitimate and required some kind of intervention, the host in the room was not spoken to seemingly and it has taken 3 weeks before the nature of the issue surfaces.

As I have said many many times, I am all for people raising concerns and the only thing better than there not being any issues is that the issues get resolved. I hate the idea that there are issues with shows that I have maintenance control over and they're not being addressed. I myself work 6 nights a week and so can't be in the room; I rely on the host of the show and the patrons to keep me informed about anything that needs to be addressed. If all patrons can do is tell me that the sound is wrong, all I can do is ask the host of the gig to make the sound right again...
