| From the Where2sing.com forum: Harpoet: It may very well be an uninformed view due to lack of exposure, but it seems to me that side by side, the venue that doesn't run a comp does better financially than the venue that does run a comp. Is it due to poor marketing on the part of the comp running venue, the style of the comp, the people that go to the comps? I'd be surprised if any of those (or some other) reason was the sole one, however I think it's fair to say that general purpose karaoke and karaoke competitions cater to different demographics and that's why so many venues find implanting a comp into their general purpose karaoke so difficult.
