From the Where2sing.com forum:

I also come across whirlpool sometimes, but it's always from a Google search.

The reason that the W2S forums are in the very simple and consecutive format is because I wanted them to mirror a conversation that takes place in real life. The conversation has a position in time, topics go around, and participants largely change.

I think the forums serve their purpose well, but I agree with you that important information is being lost - although I question whether it's better read some time after its original discussion, or better re-discussed. I have noted that the same players, in repeated conversations, do seem to change their views or information.

With the small number of conversations (forums) able to be joined, and with the players (W2Sers) keeping up on most of them, do we not already revisit topics regularly enough to keep the whole community informed? When things get slow, you may have noticed I'll lead back into a topic not debated for a while, and we'll go into it with selection of new and used players.

There's the obvious thought of creating a KaraokeWiki, but whom would it serve, and would it be possible to take something out of a forum and keep it permanently relevant?

Or would it be better (or possible) to identify someone via the forums as having something authoritative to say, and encapsulating that into a purpose-written article on the subject able to be filed under a descriptive heading in a KaraokeWiki?

Meet karaoke hosts and singers in the Where2sing.com forums . . .

KARAOKE in Australia

You've found the #1 website with the original and biggest karaoke gig listings database listing nearly 1,000 gigs across all states of Australia - each listing with full venue name, address, phone number plus extensive information about the gig itself. Read feedback from singers who have already visited the venue, and see information such as songlist size, crowd size, type of singer and even how much applause you can expect when you visit each gig.

Or visit the forums where both singers and hosts meet and chat - including State-chat forums where you can make friends whom you'll meet up with at a venue near you.

And there are the Gig Reviews, the constantly updated 'National Top 10 Karaoke Venues' chart, specialised lists of venues for Under 18s and currently running Competitions, lists for karaoke rooms, restaurants, karaoke hosts and supplliers, and karaoke news from all around the world.

Of course, the best way to keep up to date is by opting in for the FREE weekly Karaoke News Email.
