From the Where2sing.com forum:

The problem with putting newcomers (in fact, anyone) out of turn is in defining who is a newcomer. If I stay away long enough, am I a newcomer - or only if the length of time exceeds the host's memory? Or if the host erroneously remembers me, am I no longer a newcomer even though actually I am?

It seems to me that hosts who play with the standard system of fair and even turns are trying to be too clever for their own good.

On the other hand, if a venue is so busy that the host can pick and choose, it's up to him to avoid overstepping that line where regular and good singers start to go elsewhere - and of course the quality of his rotation will be public knowledge via W2S.
