| From the Where2sing.com forum: I truly believe that the majority of regular patrons at Karaoke would Never approach a host to complain about rotation . They might mention problems with the sound or ask when they are next up but patrons don't enjoy having to ask for fair rotation.We sit and simmer and talk amongst ourselves and if a venue is poorly run we stop coming and find an alternative venue.They also don't enjoy seeing Hosts sing every round unless there are very few singers !
The same could be said when contributors to this website make comments about venues. They don't want to be labelled and seen as being 'whingers' . It takes guts to make comments and to be asked to email further info which would identify the sender is really asking unfair expectations.
If I make a comment in Gigs that is negative I always try to include the positive comments as well unless I have a particularly bad experience.
I believe it is naive to think that regular patrons turn up week in week out because a Gig is perfect. Like any business you need to work to keep your customers happy and without constructive criticism it's hard to achieve that.
Where I work we receive lots of comments about our service provided. The great majority is anonymous and we get our share of negativity. We are expected to address these comments constructively and look at ways to improve our service.Yes we get upset with some of the comments but they are a fact of life!
May I also suggest that not all negative comments need to be answered! Or even commented on! Listen and move forward!
