| From the Where2sing.com forum: The Vine Inn at Nuriootpa rocked last night.... it was the karaoke grand final featuring 12 singers, with each performing three songs of their choice. With a $1,000 travel voucher prize sponsored by the local Harvey World Travel office up for grabs, the competition was guaranteed to be hotly contested. The 150+ crowd had a great night with the gig wrapping up about 12.45am when the winner was eventually announced... and the winner was Mandy! Congratulations! She had quite a vocal support crew and proved to be a very popular choice as the title winner with the crowd. Talking to her after the gig, she told me that a holiday is just what her and her hubby needed after some recent tough times - good to see the prize went to someone so deserving. She obviously had worked very hard on her performances and it paid off big time! Congratulations again Mandy! A big congratulations also to the other 11 contestants, each of whom gave some outstanding performances of a wide variety of songs from a range of eras. I certainly did not envy the judging panel, comprising four local business people... they had a very tough decision to make! It was good to see that each of the contestants received some quality feedback on their performances when individually presented to the crowd leading up to the winner announcement. I am hoping that the Vine Inn has future comps - the venue is terrific and the locals really love their karaoke! Congratulations also to the team who put together the comp and ran it over the last 12 or so weeks.
