From the Where2sing.com forum:

The thing that p*sses folks off more if they only get to do one song is Unfair rotations ..ie... that special person or persons that seem to get extra songs otherwise most folks are pretty good in general with rotations as they know people that come late or later must and should get a song , Yet pending on the venue and as perhaps Wolfie and TMM can agree with me here , in the country it is very ''' grassroots '' karaoke ( like back in the early 90's ) at around 11.30 or so the rotation pretty well goes out the door and the host may do ''' the karaoke Faves song hour '' ,where groups get up and sing songs that get the crowd pumping and the singers seem to sort themselves out by themselves because if they don't like to the song about to play , they leave the stage and others just come up and replace the singers leaving , its weird but it seems to work in the bush and even if no one has put a song in that the host is about to play , the hosts just calls ''' A requested song ''' by Mike ( odds are are with a very common name like that there will be a ''' Mike '' in the room , if not they the crowd would believe a Mike is in the room as the name is common lol ,
In other words you do as you do to cater for the best out come on the night :)

Yet to me its all so simple , if i wish to sing more than 1 or 2 songs , i just go to a smaller karaoke gig and sing my heart out , and not give a toss about the rotation :)
