| From the Where2sing.com forum: Well I have been reading all those comments from Hosts all over Australia and also listening very carefully to comments from David who runs this great website. I believe a lot of this discussion started a few weeks ago when I made some pertinent comments about a gig I have been attending for some time. Most of the comment was positive but I had the hide to make a complaint about the sound system and well! The rude and derogatory remarks started. I was basically told that I was a serial complainer and to fog off to some old peoples home because I had the audacity to complain and wouldn't identify myself by sending an email to the host's boss. If a singer can't make a comment without being crucified then maybe some host's or supervisors have been hosting too long. Without singers you wouldn't have a venue to host.
Unfortunately some people just can't see the forest for the tree's.
I also don't believe you need to have hosted a Karaoke venue to understand how it should be run. We singers are not stupid!
We don't ask for the world , just a fair system of rotation that doesn't take us for granted. We are always welcome when the venue is bare of singers and you are trying to get the mood going. Just don't forget us when we arrive early, buy drinks and food and stay til the end. Oh! and turn up week in week out!
