| From the Where2sing.com forum: Just an interesting conversation I have had today or should I say heated discussion, we operate a fun filled nite of karaoke 5 nites a week with a mixed crowd of good, average, entertaining and seriously funny singers. when we run a comp we put through some of each of these as to some serious karaoke dwellers it is the highlight of their life, on finals nite they clearly know they wont get through but have had a ball, and I might add have entertained a lot of people. Have copped a huge amount of abuse from some one who would not disclose who they are that we should only ever select the best singers, how unfair !!! this would be to all the others who still love to sing in front of a crowd I have found sometimes the bad singers get more applause as they are having a go! when it comes to money sadly comp chasers are the pits. come to karaoke to let your hair down and remember what it is all about support everyone not just your own ego's. We all know once the serious judging begins...well judges do their job ,and we for one do not influence the outcome so clearly the best singers will win, just letting of a little steam !!!!!! keep singing everyone
