| From the Where2sing.com forum: I'm keen to hear from other hosts and patrons who have seen this in action and how it worked. My comment was mostly me thinking out loud, I've never incorporated this idea in a show and I've never seen it in action but it seems to me that its natural inclination is towards singers who have more talent than less, more courage than less and less shame than more.
Quite a number of years ago, before I started hosting, I was with a couple of friends at karaoke and one of them asked me what they should do. Sexy Back had just come out so I suggested that. His turn came around, he got up and what he sung was nothing like the JT version. He sits down and I say 'what the hell was that', he says 'I've never heard the song so I just made it up'. After I got over the shock of hearing something different to what I was expecting, I realised I liked his version more than the original.
I think it would be great to somehow harness that fearlessness...
