We will often ask a singer to get closer to the mic ...or ..not to drop it down by their sides during pauses in the song...or ..hold it at approx 90degrees to their face. (SM 58 and beta A 58..with the AKG mic being better for group singing)

For most ...it goes right over their heads and they soon go back to their old style

2 weeks ago at Woodford we had a guy ..new to karaoke ..and quite a good singer holding the mic almost down at his stomach...Rosalie gave him a few pointers on the night...he was obviously keen to learn ...this week he was back and brilliant!
