| From the Where2sing.com forum: TK Lets Party , you are so right , once you learn to '' breathe '' correctly half the battle is over but not only with singing but also with speaking in a professional manner MCing , many people ask me how i can sing ''sets'' of songs and also speak clearing when i talk about a song as an intro to doing the song/s , and i never seem '' puffed out or voice gets tied , simply its all in the breathing from diaphragm , and if there is a ''tip '' i can give folks here ( if they need a tip ') is ....Place your hand on your upper belly and breath in , now if you notice that your belly is going in wards you are doing it wrong , you must breath in yet your belly is expanding outwards , once you can do this then you work on releasing the breath in time with the music / song but all this is practice , practice , practice , i would start at 10 mins per day for the first week then increase by 5mins per week, so hand on upper tummy , breath in , pushing out tummy NOT inwards then start to hold breath 5 seconds( increase time when you feel you are ready ) then slowly start releasing breath in a very steady/ controlled motion .
