| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi David, I can answer your last question with a resounding NO :) Whenever we have left venues (usually due to idiot managers), they've just assumed any old show would do to replace us and in almost every instance the managers ask us back within weeks with a pay rise or the new karaoke folds within a month or two. The managers especially in the Sydney gay clubs don't respect the karaoke operators, DJ's, drag performers etc or it seems any staff in general.
Thankfully I can say the exact opposite is true with the managers I've worked with in Melbourne. The guys I work for down there cannot do enough to make sure our show has everything it needs to suceed and that individually we're all looked after as operators. Hence one of the major reasons I decided to stop doing gigs in Sydney for the time being and only do our show in Melbourne.
