| From the Where2sing.com forum: WOW what a great resonse about having a fundraiser.
I have spoken to a owner of of place that is central in the sydney metro area and he she he would support thenight at he,s venue.
I will now talk to the person that normally runs a Karaoke show there to see whet he thinks about the idea before confirming the venue as I feel being his venue we should get him involve as well. So if Kev and Nat where able to help out as host and maybe with some gear then we should be able to to have a few host from the sydney region share the hosting of the night.
I will also over the next few days talk to local business to get support in the way of prizes and maybe dotnations as well as local Polys hopfully the local state member may be able to avise as and help with fundraising structors.
The venue owner said he would support us with the venue and also give us prizes as well.
Like any good fundrasiers we need people( business and private) to come along that have some dollars to thought around and would also need to promote it to a wider base of people by News paper story and radio adds as well as word of mouth.
I would like to see us be able to raise a decent amount well over a thousand would be good and worth the while so we need to attract over a 100 people to the event.
Being able to get free press and name major sponsers will give companies a reason to let go of some of there funds that are put aside for commmunity prodjects.
I will be talking to the local mayor of the next few days to try and get local support and hope that we can get someone oof local councial to be present.
We would need some lead time to get this project off the ground as it will be a lot of work for me to do and need a good amount of time to get the word out there in order to be able to get good crowd there.
I will get started on this project right away and firstly see if we need to register with the fundraiser board or the DFT.
I am proud to be part of such a nice group of people here that want to help.
