| From the Where2sing.com forum: Ray, I think you're confusing singing with singer - as in the action of singing which can be done by anyone, with the naming of a person performing the singing and with a certain set of skills and criteria. If I were to cut your hair, you would not necessarily name me as a hairdresser even though I was performing the act of the cutting of hair.
So perhaps I should have asked my question differently, and more in line with the answer given by China: Who would the normal person call a singer?
I am, of course, a singer. I call myself a singer. You know that I love karaoke, in that I run this site, but does my naming myself as a singer infer to you that I sing publicly apart from at karaoke?
