| From the Where2sing.com forum: To me, there are pros and cons with one karaoke operator having many venues.
From my perspective, as a karaoke singer, on top of the List of Pros is: Familiarity - You know exactly what you are getting: you know the host/s, you know the hosting-style, you know equipment in use and the sound system (they usually have uniform hardware), you know what songs are available and by which manufacturer (also identical lists). Such familiarity brings great “comfort” to most, if not all, karaoke singers, left with only one variable to “worry” about – the audience (including the other singers).
On top of my List of Cons is this: Such hosts usually have a band of loyal singers following them around the traps, and as such, the same faces front up at their every gig, and the drawback is that as a singer, one may be subject to the same-old same-old repertoire from this band of loyal followers night-in night-out at all the hosts’ venues, and that can be very trying and very tiring for me, as I enjoy other singers’ performances as much as I enjoy singing myself. But I guess that’s OK for other karaoke singers who disappear from the room till their next song …
