| From the Where2sing.com forum: David, as a Host who has retired and like Johhny Farnham came back to do a last show ha ha ha, I feel like I can make a comment on whether Hosts should comment or not.
I have been to some really really bad Karaoke Shows ie, Hosts drunk, Hosts not at there desks but out smoking when the singer is finished singing, not knowing what right and left channel meant on a JVC player or where to find the button to change it and the list could go on.
Did I make a comment...no and why didn't I comment?
My observation at these Shows was one that people still got to sing and eventually when visiting another Karaoke Show would then realise how bad their particular Host was.
Another reason is that most Hosts think that their Show is better and are more critical with their comments.
This is akin to singers judging other singers as..I'm better than so and so.
Over the years I have seen Hosts bagging out or leaving a bad comment on another Hosts gig and must confess most of the time it reads sour grapes.
It is generally followed by a great comment on some one else's gig, friend etc.
I think the suggestion regarding putting the Hosts own Karaoke Show or Show's after their name has merit.
Ps I know I'm a great Host......just ask me.
