| From the Where2sing.com forum: EE currently has 4 Video Trivia shows, located primarily around the Inner West of Sydney, 3 of which I host personally. They are 45 question games running about 2 hours which about half comprising of narrated questions and half multimedia questions (combination of video, audio and picture content). Every single question has an accompanying answer video clip featuring an authority on the subject telling you the answer, this helps nullify disputes from people who feel they've been hard done by with their answers. All questions are written by myself and all multimedia content is sourced and edited together by myself.
EE's trivia philosophy is very similar to our karaoke philosophy: to strip away any perceived elitism and make the product accessible to the average person. Question topics range from history, geography, politics, music, movies, tv, technology, science, art & literature and sport. There's also a current affairs question in each of the two rounds sourced from the previous week's news headlines.
As authorised fundraisers for the National Breast Cancer Foundation since Jan 2010, we raise money at trivia via a gold coin donation for a weekly crossword. Created by myself, each week has a different theme across one of the question topic categories. One of the serialised crossword themes that might appeal to karaoke goers is 'Song Lyrics' where the clue is a one line lyric and the answer is the name of the song. There has now been 5 Song Lyric crosswords.
While it's never unavoidable, consideration is taken when writing questions in trying to make them 'un-Googleable'. Although the use of electronic devices during games is severely frowned upon, it can't be stamped out completely. As such, wherever possible, questions are phrased to ensure that you are using memory to answer the question and not typing in a phrase into your phone. An example of this would be: Which explosive singer hauled a piano down the street to show what he'd do for his girlfriend.
