Hi David. the pub at ipswich called the calendonian, seams to have quite a bit of changing of the guard so to speak, about 2 months ago i was booked to do a sunday weekly there and was called a day earlier and told it wasnt on at all, but not before i saw some other karaoke company advertising the same gig i was entitiled to, naturally i was furious. the company that booked the gigs was united entertainment, who did not return 6 phone calls and hung up on me numerous times, the sort of agency that will never get any of my buisness, if that is the way they run their buisness.. anyway, thursdays and sundays have been jugled a bit, it would be interesting to see what is happening.. 1st, it was advertised by the great karoake guy oz karaokes website and now it seams kapai karaoke is doing it, secondly qld karaoke hosts karaoke kings did a gig there after i told the united entertainment guy they lived locally and may be interested it seams karaoke kings, did the gig but found the managment downright fussy and rude...is this a case of karaoke hosts not being able to deliver and provide quality entertainment at this venue or just a problem with managment and the pub... could be an interesting story, mind you just to me, but why all the changing around and funny bookings, does something stink.. anyway, take it easy.

Indeed, there is a story there, but perhaps more about how so many hosts have failed to fit what the venue desires. I have a review in the pipeline for that venue, and I noted that there is nothing outside the venue advertising the karaoke. I wonder whether any of the hosts who were so keen to take the venue's money were keen enough to make the gig a success that they thought of putting up some advertising? And as for being called and cancelled at the last minute, I wonder whether you were furious anough to bother to have a professional agreement in place?
