From the Where2sing.com forum:

Re todays bolling point: As a host I sing at the beginning of the night to start things off. I used to sing at the end of the night but with both of my gigs having around the 30 singer mark i have givin the last song to the patrons as that is what the show is there for.. Them. That is why i do not sing every round. I feel that missing out singing gives someone else a song or an extra song whatever the case maybe.

If i am having a busy night (over 30 singers) i usually have the cut off point around an hour before the show finishes cause i feel that the patrons who have been there from the get go deserve that extra song if available. One of my gigs is only 3 hours and patrons who have been there from the get go get 2 songs in sometimes 3 depending. So i feel that this is the best option for my gigs.

People are all different and hosts will run their shows differently, but people who come in with half hour to go and expect to get songs in i feel is abit rude and unfair to those who were there from the start.

** hoping off my soapbox now**
