Your other comment (and MB's and others') of 'horses for courses' which holds so true for most things in life, also holds true for karaoke hosting and maintaining karaoke shows too - as you said so yourself, you have lost gigs over the years when the mix of singers to audience is 'not right' - and MB talks about country vs city shows - even a magical formula can't work for all venues, particularly for those venues where karaoke is just not embraced nor appreciated by patrons of that venue, or for those venues where one just can't 'fix' the mix of singers-audience to workable proportions.
