| From the Where2sing.com forum: I guess overseas influence is inevitable on a country that has 20 million of the world's 7,000 million population - that's about a quarter of one percent. The 'white Australia' and economic protectionist policies of not so many years ago sealed Australia's fate as a country to be bought and sold, and sold in to, not operated in - and sadly it's not easy for generations to break out of that and become an independent economic power. But the good news is that traditional geographic boundaries are fast becoming irrelevant, and companies and ideas are standing on their own merits.
So maybe the question is, why isn't Australia spawning world class talent these days?
