Just some ideas about the fundraiser
Nat at one stage mentioned about the Lauren Huxley story and I feel it was a good cause to help,Latley Ive also been touched by a story of a girl by the name of Shauntelle Berryman .She has just turned 16 and had only graduated from Quakershill High when her life changed 19 day after her 16th birthday when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour.She is now in westmead Hospital ever since then.She is being raised by her father and he had to leave his job as a storeman due to having to look after her.They lived in a two store house and he could not carry her up the stairs anymore and due to not being able to meet the rent the housing commission evicted them from the premises.Mr Berryman is a single parent and also has a older daugghter as well and due to not being able to meet expensenses the family has been forced to spilt up with the older sister living with relos.
There has been a fundraiser a her school to raise funds for the family to live back in the same home at this time of need and a muffty day raised 9000.00 dollars with the help of Local Business and the local member.
The housing department are now looking for a house on the priority housing list.
Shauntelle has a very slim chance of getting better and It would be good to see her be able to spend the last days of her live with her family in a home together.
You my allready know of this story as it has been in the local papers over the last couple of weeks.
If we use the first funtcion to rasie some dollars for this cause we would perhape be able to help providing funds to this family so that they can help give this young talented girl a quality of live with her dad and sister in her last days.
I feel that there are many stories out there and that sometimes it the little stories that dont make the news I feel that this is a great cause that we could really be able to all be a part of.
Over the next few weeks I will be confirming with you all some details of the date ,venue ,caurse,
I think that the name CARE AOKE is one that would work for us as it expains just what we do.
