| From the Where2sing.com forum: Yes to a degree i agree with you , yet your part about Governments placing '''money into dying ventures , you use ''smoking '' ,yeah well if you have been watching music videos of the past year ( lady ga ga , Rhianna and others ) one would think that smoking is becoming back in style ( sadly ) and is far from dying out yet the thing is in Australia the Government have been plowing money into all sorts of industries for decades ...Ford ...Holden ...ABC ..Radio ABC / triple J / + R ..ABC recording ...SBS and indeed its own people in all sorts of ways, yet with the car Companies its a very ''fluid '' thing but with the entertainment stuff it is to improve the ''backbone'' of Australian Talent and it has been successful on so many levels and over a very long time , we all know Gov's through money around in Aust , its a ''population '' thing and all setbacks that a small population can deliver , gee's I'll love know how many artists ( non performance and performance , ) that have survive day to day living so they could bring us there '' art '' on a Government Grant , but i think you are correct when you say the new media is where the new frontier for music , yet to see a band / singer / act develop over a period of time by getting out there at the local pubs and clubs to one day raise to the top of the world having '' earned '' there applause threw sheer talent and hardwork is something very special , i hope the very young today still has the opportunity to see this many times as i did with all the legends of Australian music back when i was young.
