| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi Swanny ....Everything in life has a '' life span'' , before KWC there was the Wintersun sing your way to Qld indie car race karaoke comp ( or something to that effect lol ) and there was a $5 entry / registration fee , this comp was mainly the same as the KWC but only Australia wide , i think the same people are doing these comps ( i could be wrong with this statement ) , any way being involved in a karaoke bar back then i can tell you it became a nightmare to get the $5 out of the karaoke singers and it got to a point where we just waived the fee because of all the whinging and at the end of the day the $5 paid for the singing rights fell away from the bar anyway so it was a case of folks having X amount of bucks to spend and it did not increase turn over at all , needless to say we only got '' biten once '' and went back to '' in house comps'' which with word of mouth'' improved turnover so much more than the Australian wide comp .
