| From the Where2sing.com forum: ok new to this site and so far not finding the experience very filling :-( I have signed up and then found that to be able to see what gigs are on and when I have to earn points for posting in the forum or subscribing. I decided to subscribe but when I went to do so I found it is unavailable while they make up their mind? does this mean that this site I have just found may not be around for long? I enjoy karaoke and have gotten more into it in recent years and have made quite a few friends through attending and becoming involved in various shows put on around the area in which I live. It is a fun night out and gives me the chance to socialize and meet various people and have a great time and the crowds this type of event attracts seem to be a diversified but very friendly and sociable group of people, who like me are just there to have a good time. The best part about the shows I attend in my area is (Melbourne and the Western suburbs) that they are generally well hosted everybody that wants to gets a go and they are not directed at how good you are but more at just giving it a go and having fun and cheering for everyone that gets up :-) This is inspired by a good host and in turn if the host is good they draw a good crowd. I just wish there was more promotion and easy ways to find gigs so that more people can find them. If it wasn't for a local club having karaoke and then meeting people and word of mouth I would probably not even be involved in the karaoke seen and looking back would have missed out on so much!!
