Maybe it's just because I'm getting old and cranky but I don't think so. How can DJ's of Karaoke gigs, knock back serious singers who purchase their own disks and want to play them at Karaoke gigs? Don't they realise these are the people who are the heart of the Karaoke industry? A person with his own favourite version of a song is more likely to do a decent job of singing than crossing their fingers and hoping the key is right. In most Host cases it's a case of 'it's our disk or the highway.' Some operators don't even have a disk player with them. It's a Karaoke Computer now in many venues. They won't even think about playing your memory stick with your favourites on them either. It's a case of the operators pleasing themselves and not the patron. Overseas it is the opposite. No wonder Karaoke nights at many venues don't last long. Not doing much for the disk retailers either!!!
