From the Where2sing.com forum:

Thing is, in the shows that I have hosted over the last 5 years, I have can count on the one hand how many people wanted to use their own discs. I used to take a portable cdg drive with me but when it didn't get used for a straight 9 months, I stopped bringing it. These days, hosts aren't driving around in utes and vans, they're driving around in a sedan or hatchback with the back seats down. You're also contending with street side parking (good luck if you get a park out the front) and you need to carry 2 speakers, 2 stands, a monitor, laptop bag and a leads case (plus a mixer box if the mixer won't fit in your leads case). I wouldn't begrudge any laptop host for not having a cdp player with them as well *just in case* someone might want to use their own discs.
