| From the Where2sing.com forum: Yes Vic you are correct in what you say and indeed smaller venues or the ones with smaller rooms , licensed to hold a small number of patrons (30 to50 people ) do certainly run a greater risk of folding if there is not a Bar take to justify the entertainment and all associated costs involved yet these places also take a more paginated view of things to , basically what they'' lose on the round-a-bout they get back in the straight''', meaning return business through the week/s months and the place '''looks alive '' and happening so this may increase business over all , yet in saying that please let me say this that I've seen many Pumping , crowded happening places '' Fold '' over night also , it just takes a change of manager , sale of business , new direction , a bad fight , police raids , closure of business because of Debts , the list can go on but what I'm saying here is never take any thing for a given / granted be always aware of pitfalls , value of customers that are worth the value ..........There is an old entertainers saying ..... be always kind to those you meet going up the Ladder because they are the same people you meet when you come down that Ladder ''''..........What i am trying to say to all hosts and punters is sure the venue you have today may need and have a certain criteria of punter but tomorrows gig you may meet and need those ones that you didn't need today
