| From the Where2sing.com forum: I have to say, these posts made me giggle. Look, agreed, there are a fair few of karaoke singers who are not great, but hey, they're having fun, and that's what karaoke can be about as well. It's not about the TV shows necessarily putting karaoke down, it's just shows like X-Factor etc do not have the best singing talent full stop, and sometimes it's more of a popularity contest! On the other hand, there are some awesome undiscovered singers who do karaoke to gain experience and confidence singing in front of audiences. As I posted back in January, a regular karaoke goer, Where2Sing devotee and great singer, Kieran Fraser, has made it to the Blind audition stage of a new TV singing show The Voice, and from reading reports on their facebook page, it seems the quality of singers in this far surpasses anything from X-Factor and Idol.... so let's hope this will be a POSITIVE for the karaoke scene!! I wish him lots of luck and can't wait for the show to start!!
