| From the Where2sing.com forum: Rovics...With all the added burdens of ''running costs '' ie... Fuel is just about going higher in price almost daily , repairs etc ,these days perhaps it is more wise to invest in '' micro sound units '' , do hosts really need so many lights up on steel towers , i purchase a few lights that are the size of cigarette packets that just fill a room with great lighting , do hosts really need big ''boom'' boxes for speakers when there are so many great speakers that take little room in a car , hey with computers most hosts are no longer lugging around cases of discs ,
I see Wolfie towing a trailer with all his gear and he scratches his head when he See's me placing all my gear in a i35 easily , and my gear leaves his gear for dead when it comes to sound (easier to set up / pull down too ) yet his still lugs all the '' crap'' around in a trailer paying perhaps 30% + more for fuel because he is pulling a trailer around to gigs ..MADNESS!!! , So even more today it is Smart to do ones Homework and buy gear with a view to reduce Running costs , buy smart and save big time over the years .
And maybe you just might be helping the environment in the process if that is your thing .
