Many things that were either included, or left out, I did this for a particular reason.
And part of that decision was affected by now knowing whether the number of options would be overwhelming for either hosts listing gigs, or singers reading about them - so I'm very open to comments about what should, and should not, be available as a selection - and therefore thanks for suggesting that there should be spaces for semi-final dates.
My thinking at the time was that, as long as people knew the date of the last heat, and the date of the Venue Final, that they could guess that any semi finals would run between those dates. Some venues have some really strange semis, for example the winners of one batch of heats go into one semi, and the other winners go into another - and I've been struck by the number of venues that have a really weird system of running semis. So as soon as I started giving date options for semis, I really needed to give another set of options for who was in each semi, etc. I also thought that the host will know those who are enterting the semis, as they'll be heat winners, and that the best place for more info about the semis was best placed into the gig's Comments forum by the host.
So perhaps you'd like to add any extra info about the comp into the gig's Comments page, and I'll make a note of your suggestion to consider it when I have a bigger list of things that should be added the to options available to those listings competitions....
