| From the Where2sing.com forum: Well ! What a Sunday i had , the Wife , Wolfie & I went down to Kyneton Vic a 6 hour return journey but every km was more than worth the effort , we meet up with our long time very dear friends George and Judy and yes George was the drummer in one of my bands from days gone by and he took us to the Kyneton bowling club where there is a band playing one a month called '''The Hubcaps'' , George had been there Drummer for some time a while ago , i took my trusty DVD player with my little TV and my pre made disk with many of the songs i sing on it as i was '' crossing my fingers '' that they may ask me up to do a few '' numbers '' .
George introduce me to the band members and said Mallee Boy wants to quickly set up his stuff and do a few numbers and they said Great !! but there won't be any f*#king karaoke going on , if you want to get up grab a guitar and i said Bloody Beauty Mate for i hadn't played with a band for oh so many years and even playing the guitar is a distant memory but hey as they say '' when the opportunity knocks'' so i got up and sung 3 songs ''Country Roads / Knocking on heavens door (rock rendition ) and Proud Mary , well what a blast , sure the guitar was a little out of Tune ( not my guitar ) and i had to remember the words and chords as i went along so a couple of stuff ups but Mateeeee!! i had a Ball and the large crowd there enjoyed me heaps and i had quite a few dancing away , so if you ever get the chance to sing or play in a band DO IT!!! , It just adds a wonderful different dimension to always doing karaoke , plus the guys i played with in the band were just ''Spot on '' a pleasure to play with and i also had the great pleasure of meeting and listening to a very famous singer / entertainer from the past ''Colin Cook '' from the band of the mid 60's Colin Cook and the Strangers , they had a number of hits back then including '''Heart '' / '' pocketful of Rainbows '' ( please google for all info ) well this fellow certainly has even now the Xfactor , can he sing , he was telling me that in the 80's he lived in England and had a great band there but he's best time was in stage shows such as ''Hair and '' Jesus Christ Superstar '', i would love to get '' Heart '' on karaoke and sing it myself , great song , well that is 2 great Sundays in a row , Wolfies show last week and ''The Hubcaps and guest artists this week , whats coming next week ??????
