From the Where2sing.com forum:

Mmmmmmm , yes i certainly understand your frustration , and are not being harsh , the honest fact is that most hosts will '' go with the flow '' in other words if there is a low amount of singers the host may '' fill in '' with a few songs this is for many reasons one being is to keep the '' ambiance '' of the karaoke maintaining or simply the manager wants it this way plus when people are singing this naturally encourages more singers to want to sing than just '' house music '' anyway there are a number of reasons but as the list fills up with singers most ( not all but most ) are only to happy to take a back seat and let the paying customers sing the night away but sadly there are those hosts that believe they are '' legends '' and think its there night to shine , this is usually the case with new and inexperienced hosts but there are some that are just totally inflexible and just run a show completely the same week in week out and are unable to ''go with the flow '' of the night or venue

KARAOKECHIC..Yes i understand where you are coming from as there are some hosts that think its '' all's fair in love and war and business'' well perhaps for some it is but for me and many other successful hosts i know there is a Moral component '' to all actions in business no matter what business it may be and you can hold your head up high because you didn't lower yourself to those ''MO Hosts '' that ''Slither '' around to build there business , i don't think there is much you can do about it but keep your own level of moral judgement when it comes to karaoke and its business .
